Dhaka City Corporation

Dhaka City Corporation (DCC), (Bangladesh) is a non-profit public body entrusted with the responsibility of solid waste management in Dhaka City that includes street sweeping, drain cleaning, waste collection, transportation and disposal of waste. Various studies have been conducted with the assistance of ADB and UNDP in Dhaka; however, an entire solution is yet to be found. Currently, Dhaka City is involved in a master plan formulated in 2005 on solid waste management (2005-2015). The priority projects include the community based solid waste collection, environmental education, improvement of secondary transportation, sanitary landfill construction, institutional and financial management capacity, etc.
